I sit beside you,
Waiting for you to come,
I sit beside you,
Believing you are the one,
You sit beside me,
Waiting for my reply,
You sit beside me,
Staring me straight in the eye,
One day you might come,
Will I be ready?
One day I might reply,
Will you be steady?
Is this the sum of our fears,
Or the summit of our anticipations?
Should we be fearful of it,
Or warmly show our acceptance?
We sit beside each other,
Anticipating the end,
We sit beside each other,
But we sit beside ourselves.
